Bowlpros x Clean Ocean Project

THE PROJECT

Clean Ocean Project was founded in 2002 on Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, by Wim Geirnaert.

For the last 20 years, the organization has removed tons of trash from beaches all over Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Morocco, Brazil, El Salvador, Ecuador and Belgium. Besides cleaning the beaches, the goal of Clean Ocean Project is to educate people about the issue of ocean waste and create awareness towards more sustainable living.  

Over the last couple of years, the project has been focusing on the source of the pollution problem; the use and production of single-use plastic. Highlighting the problem with campaigns and initiatives to eliminate plastic bags, straws and single-use plastic on the island of Fuerteventura. Meeting people face to face and help business owners make sustainable changes have been a success and it is an ongoing project that aims to target all major single-use items that have become a big part of our lives. 

The Climate crisis is real, the problems are endless and so should the solutions be. At Clean Ocean Project the hope is to motivate people to do their bit and become part of the positive change.

BOWLPROS x COP

In Bowlpros we really believe that all projects can bring a positive outcome against the global climate change so all our actions are into the direction of becoming a zero impact business.

For this reason we decided to support Clean Ocean Project after seeing their real actions on Fuerteventura beaches. Furthermore, as we are all waterman, sport enthusiasts and nature lovers, their mission touches un deeply. 

That's why we decided to donate 1% of the profit of our "Bowl Friday" and Xmas sales. This support will be small help for their next projects. We will keep you posted about their progresses.

HOW CAN I BE PRO TOWARDS THE ENVIRONMENT

There's a bunch of actions which each of us can do. Before leaving the beach collect your waste, and leave the place cleaner than you found it.

Change your daily routine and stop using single use products. Most of them are made from plastic that is one of the biggest threats for the ocean and nature in general. A good start is avoiding single use cups, straws and plastic bags.

Start acting, be the change!
